This event is in the past.
April 13 after the regular meeting Peter Pauwels Conservation Officer South Island Zone will be presenting on cougars and wolves in the Leech Water Shed, where most of our mining activity takes place; however this information is just as relevant to Sooke, the Sombrio and any other place a person carries on outdoor activities, in this case particularly Placer Mining.
Both animals are elusive wildlife we are blessed to have in our area, and the more you are educated on their behavior and instincts, the more opportunity you have of seeing them, avoiding contact and relaxing more during your mining experience.
